KinetiCore Thermocouple Logger ("the Application") is a professional-grade data acquisition and logging application designed for collecting temperature data from K-type thermocouple sensors connected to the KinetiCore Thermocouple Logger unit. This Privacy Policy explains how the Application handles your data and privacy.

2. Data Collection and Usage

2.1 Temperature Data

• The Application collects temperature data directly from the KinetiCore hardware unit via USB connection
• This data is stored locally on your computer in CSV files you designate
• No temperature data is transmitted to external servers or the internet
• All data remains under your complete control

2.2 Application Logs

• The Application generates log files stored in the logs/ directory on your local machine
• Logs contain diagnostic information such as:
• Application startup/shutdown events
• Data acquisition events
• Hardware communication details
• Error messages
• Logs are never automatically uploaded or transmitted
• You have full access to review and delete logs anytime

2.3 Comments and Annotations

• User comments and annotations added to measurements are stored in JSON files (_comments.json) alongside your data
• These files remain on your local machine
• No comments are transmitted outside your computer

2.4 Configuration Files

• Device configuration (device_cache.json) and calibration data (calibration.json) are stored locally
• These files are never synced or uploaded to external services

3. Data Transmission

The Application does NOT:

• Connect to the internet
• Transmit temperature data to any remote servers
• Send diagnostic information to KinetiCore or any third party
• Require or use internet connectivity to function
• Store any data in cloud services
• Track user activity or behavior

The Application ONLY communicates with:

• Your local KinetiCore hardware unit via USB
• Your local file system
• Your default web browser (when opening the User Manual)

4. Third-Party Services

The Application is completely standalone and independent. It does not use:

• Telemetry services
• Analytics platforms
• Cloud storage
• External APIs
• Third-party libraries that transmit data

5. File Storage and Backup

• You are responsible for backing up your data files
• CSV logs are stored in locations you designate
• We recommend maintaining regular backups of critical temperature data
• You may export data or move files at any time

6. Hardware Requirements

The Application requires:

• Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
• NI-DAQmx runtime (available from National Instruments)
• USB connection to KinetiCore Thermocouple Logger unit

Your interaction with National Instruments software is subject to their separate privacy policies.

7. User Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all your collected data anytime
• Delete data files at any time
• Export data in CSV format
• Modify or delete comments and annotations
• Move or backup your data freely
• Understand exactly where your data is stored (your local machine)

8. Security

Local Security

• All data is stored on your machine with the security measures your operating system provides
• The Application does not encrypt data by default (you may use Windows encryption if desired)

No Network Transmission

• Since no data leaves your computer, network interception is not a concern
• No account or authentication system is used
• No cloud credentials are required

9. Calibration Data

• Calibration data is protected with checksums to prevent accidental corruption
• Calibration updates are annual and performed by KinetiCore service technicians
• Your existing calibration is never overwritten automatically

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be communicated through application updates. Your continued use of the Application after updates indicates acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
